Why Education First

Because the African child is the most child – among the world’s children – behind in education; so, the international organizations such as UNICEF who have been working for more than seven decades to care for children all over the world – especially in developing countries – Tokyo Fourth International Conference in May 2008 on African Development. UNICEF launched the report “The Situation of Children in Africa 2008: Child Survival”.

On the occasion of International Children’s Day, which falls on June 16 each year, “Save the Children” organization published a report on Africa’s children in which they highlighted their humanitarian situation. The report of the Organization indicated that:
– 9 million female children and 6 million male children drop out of school in sub-Saharan Africa.
– It also showed that half of the children in Chad and Somalia never went to school.
– The proportion of children deprived of the right to education in Niger is 55%.
– In Djibouti, 61% of her children did not go to school.
– In Eritrea, 63% of her children did not go to school.
– As in Southern Sudan, two-thirds of children are denied education.

For all of this: we had to take care of teaching the African child first before thinking of providing aid to him; because the matter to us as the Chinese say:
“To teach me how to fish, better than to catch a fish for me every day.”

Giving attention to the education of African children: will make them builders of their cities and villages and their countries in the future – Allah willing –
